Communications assistant professor Sang Nam placed third in a Korean national writing competition for his poem titled "Scent of Ho-Nam."
Nam submitted his poem to the 2012 Ho-Nam Unity Writing Competition for All Koreans, which was open to Koreans who wanted to reflect their hope for the unity of North and South Korea.
Nam’s poem describes how Korean people have fought for their freedom and democracy. Using traditional Korean poetry form, Nam reflects his hope for the unity of North and South Korea from the local level in his poem. His work will be published along with other winning compositions, and it will distributed to all K-12 schools and universities in South Korea.
