Professor David Powell in the Department of Computing Sciences is the featured spotlight in the Monthly IBM Academic Alliance newsletter as a professor working with IBM to bring state-of-the-art IBM software into the classroom.
During the 2012 spring semester, the computing sciences department used the IBM Cloud to bring the latest in the leading Rational Application Developer and WebSphere software for cloud application development and deployment to the students in CSC 430: “Advanced Programming.“

IBM invited Powell to be a speaker at the IBM Innovate 2012 conference in early June in Orlando, Fla., to discuss the computing science department’s use of the IBM Cloud Software.
