From the Southern Pines Pilot (6/28/12): In North Carolina and other states, we have what is known as the "open meetings" law. This law is in place to keep the people informed of their business, and the honesty and integrity of their elected officials.
Any violation of this law, no matter how small, brings on screaming and gnashing of teeth by the press, which in most cases is justified.
