The Fiske Guide ranks Elon among the nation's 21 "best buy" private universities.
The “best buy” schools are recognized for the quality of their academic offerings in relation to the cost of attendance.
Elon is among three North Carolina colleges and universities recognized in this year’s Fiske Guide. All of the “best buy” schools fall into the inexpensive or moderate price category, and most have four- or five-star academics ratings.
Elon, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Warren Wilson College are listed among the “best buy” schools. This is Elon’s ninth year in the Fiske Guide, which lists the “best and most interesting” colleges and universities out of the nation’s 2,200 four-year schools. Edited by Edward B. Fiske, former education editor for The New York Times, the annual guide has been published since 1982, selecting top schools from around the country based on academic ratings, price category, quality of student life on campus and other factors.
