From the Smithfield Herald (7/29/12): Two words ought to sufficiently explain why former UNC-Chapel Hill football coach Butch Davis should not prevail in his attempt to keep secret his personal cell-phone records: Mike Easley.
Or should that be, Nick Danger?
Two years after Easley left office, a media lawsuit revealed that the former governor used a secret email account to conduct some of his state business. The email address was “Nick Danger” spelled backwards. The name came from a fictional detective featured on the recordings of a comic troupe popular in the 1970s.
The revelation that Easley was hiding state business behind a private email account came after a state agency spokeswoman had earlier revealed that the Easley administration was routinely destroying public emails.
What does that have to do with Butch Davis?
