Elon University alumnus Lt. Joe DeNenno ’10 was called "one of the finest young men I’ve ever met," by New York Post writer Lenn Robbins in a story he wrote about service members who visited with the Syracuse University football team.
DeNenno graduated from Elon with a degree in communications. Since graduating in 2010, DeNenno, who was inducted into Lambda Pi Eta, the communications honor society, has been serving in the U.S. Army’s 10th Mountain Division, fighting the Taliban in Afghanistan.
Fort Drum soldiers, including DeNenno, spoke with Syracuse football players Aug. 17.
“The risks and rewards are different, but the underlying beliefs of being responsible to the people on your team are similar,” said DeNenno in the Post story.
