Zaire McCoy, assistant dean of admissions at Elon, represented higher education on Sept. 15 in a panel discussion hosted by the Triangle Chapter of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women.
“Evaluating the Climate and Pulse of N.C.” in the areas of education, economic development and healthcare took place at the David Allen Corporation in Raleigh, N.C. The panel consisted of educators, single mothers and their advocates, small business owners, legislators, community servants and social change advocates.
The chapter had been asked by BET NEWS to share experiences regarding current conditions in North Carolina. It was moderated by Tamara Gibbs, a correspondent with ABC 11 News.
The event was free and open to the public.
