Pittman received an Upper Midwest Region Emmy Award for a story he produced for KSTP-TV in St. Paul, Minn.
Pittman was honored Sept. 29 by the Upper Midwest Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences in the Feature News Report: Serious Single Story category.

Pittman was also nominated in three other categories in this year’s Emmy regional competition for a Light Single Story, Sports Single Story and as a Video Journalist.
This is Pittman’s second regional Emmy Award. He was honored in 2011 in the Video Journalist category.
Pittman earned his degree at Elon in Communications and has received awards from the National Press Photographers Association as well. He was a recipient of the D’Angelo Family Scholarship at Elon.
Pittman joined the staff of 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS in April 2011 after working for two years in Burlington, Vt., with Fox44 News.
