Habitat for Humanity is hosting its annual Shack-A-Thon fundraiser on Wednesday, Nov. 14 at 7:30 p.m. in the Academic Pavilion. This event takes place in conjunction with Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week and features free food and music.
All Elon students are invited to form teams of 5-10 people and participate in the competitive Shack-A-Thon event. Each team is given materials such as newspaper, cardboard boxes and duct tape to build a structure in 45 minutes.
There is a $5 entry fee per person, and all proceeds go towards building Habitat’s 22nd house in Alamance County. Each participant will receive three hours of community service that can be validated through the Kernodle Center.
Students can preregister at a Moseley table this week or register the day of the event. For more information, please email Caroline Taylor, ctaylor22@elon.edu.
