Assistant Professor Kenneth Fernandez spoke with News 14 Carolina on July 31, 2012, for their report on the political implications of naming San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro a keynote speaker at the Democratic National Convention in September.
Fernandez, who joins the Elon faculty this fall as the new director of the Elon University Poll, spoke of the growing Latino population in North Carolina. The report focused on the emerging power of Latino voters and why Castro’s selection could be good for Democrats.
