National French Week is Nov. 8-14, 2012, and a series of events at Elon have been organized to celebrate the impact of French and Francophone cultures on our community.
Tuesday, Nov. 6: French Table at College Coffee, sponsored by Pi Delta Phi National French Honor Society
Stop by to learn more about French at Elon, the French Club, and the French House learning community. Participate in a trivia contest and a “Faces and Places” contest for prizes.
Friday, Nov. 9: Local and Global Careers with French, Moseley Table 3, 12-2 p.m.
Stop by Moseley Table 3 between 12pm and 2pm for free hot chocolate and a glance at where you can go and what you can do with French. Advance tickets for the Crêpe Benefit for Avalon will also be on sale.
Friday, Nov. 9: French Film Showing, McEwen 011, 6-7:30 p.m.
Two Days In Paris, a comedy in English and French (with subtitles) starring Julie Delpy and Adam Goldberg
Tuesday, Nov. 13: National French Week Publicity Table, Moseley Table 2, 2-5 p.m.
Stop by to see what the French community at Elon is up to. Reps from the French Club, the French House learning community, and Pi Delta Phi National French Honor Society will be there. Advance tickets for the Crêpe Benefit for Avalon will also be on sale.
Wednesday, Nov. 14: Sweet Crêpes for Avalon, a benefit for the Center for New North Carolinians, sponsored by the French House, 114 Carlton, 5-7 p.m.
$3 per crêpe. Jam, Nutella and other delights. All proceeds will be donated.
Thursday, Nov. 15: The Weekly French Conversation Table, Irazu, 5-6 p.m.
A nice chance to practice your French in a stress-free casual environment. Open to the community. Arrive and leave at your convenience.
