Kevin O’Mara, professor of management in the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business, ended his tenure as president of the Academy of Business Education (ABE) at the association’s recent 2012 conference in Charleston, S.C.
During his time as president, ABE implemented a student research track, initiated a “host university” model for their annual conference, greatly expanded their marketing reach for the conference, began the process to adopt a hybrid distribution approach for its journal – The Journal of the Academy of Business Education, and adopted an updated tracking system for its membership (with the assistance of Haya Ajjan, assistant professor of management information systems in the Love School of Business). O’Mara will continue to serve ABE as a member of their executive board.
The ABE is a multidisciplinary association dedicated to enhancing the teaching of business education and improving the learning environment through educational research, curriculum development and creative pedagogy; fostering interdisciplinary interaction through multidisciplinary meetings and programs; and encouraging and supporting faculty development.
