Buffie Longmire-Avital and research colleagues found that perceived financial strain for aging HIV-positive African Americans is a significant and independent predictor of life satisfaction. The current finding further supports the position that socioeconomic disparities that contribute to HIV risks persist as obstacles to obtaining necessary health care as people age with this disease.
