Assistant professor Jean Rattigan-Rohr in the School of Education presented a paper on Sept. 27 at the International Conference on Education Research, in New Orleans, La.
“It takes a Village: A collaborative assault on the struggling reader’s dilemma” discussed Rohr’s ongoing research examining pre-service teacher preparation for improving struggling students’ reading skills, and the inclusion of parents in that effort.
The research is scheduled for expansion to two other schools of education beginning in spring 2011. She discussed the proposed extension, which has been made possible by a grant from the Oak Foundation.
