Edward L. Ayers, “What Is Academia, Anyway?”

Ayers is president and professor of history at the University of Richmond. He will talk about the concept of “the academy“ and what it might mean in generations to come. Author and editor of 12 books and a historian of the American South, Ayers has won the Bancroft Prize for distinguished writing in American history and the Beveridge Award for the best book on the history of the Americas, as well as being a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize and the National Book Award.
