Need a mammogram?
The Wellness Center is offering an opportunity for Elon faculty and staff to take a limousine ride to the Norville Breast Center at Alamance Regional Medical Center for a free mammogram screening.
“Take a Limo Ride for Your Life” is March 12. The limousine will take groups of eight from Moseley Center parking lot and will return the group to Elon within an hour and a half.
Individuals who have not had a mammogram within a year are eligible for the screening. Mammograms are covered under Elon’s health insurance plan, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and there is no charge.
It is recommended that women between the ages of 40 to 69 get a mammogram screenings every 12 to 24 months, depending on age. Getting the screening also will help individuals participating in the Healthy Outcomes program complete the preventive care compliance section.
Anyone interested must register online. You will then be notified of your appointment. Paperwork will be sent through campus mail and must be completed and returned to the Wellness Center by Feb. 28.
Your physician may fax your mammogram screening order to 336-278-5358 or you can mail it with your paperwork. If you need an order from the Wellness physician assistant, call the Wellness Center at Ext. 5569.
