The Martha and Spencer Love School of Business is accepting applications for the Doherty Scholar program.
The 2013-14 Doherty Scholars will be provided an annual scholarship and will be expected to provide leadership within the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business and the Doherty Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership.
Eligible Students: Rising juniors from across all majors in the university
Amount of Award: $3,000 scholarship applied toward tuition, renewable for senior year upon continued involvement in the program
Expectations of Doherty Scholars: The goal of the Doherty Center is to become a hub for entrepreneurial activity on the Elon University campus and the Triad region. Doherty Scholars will be expected to provide leadership in the Entrepreneurship Learning Community, participate in case competitions, and provide support for on-campus entrepreneurship speakers and activities. In addition, Doherty Scholars will actively participate in SEED activities and through their actions demonstrate the benefits of entrepreneurial leadership to Elon students.
Application Process:
1. Return the completed application form, a copy of your OnTrack transcript, and a resume to KoBC 100 by Tuesday, March 5 at 5:00pm.
2. Finalists in the application process should be available to interview with the Doherty Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership Steering Committee and current Doherty Scholars on a date to be announced.
Selection Process: The Doherty Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership Steering Committee and current Doherty Scholars will select three students as Doherty Scholars based on applications, interviews, and input from faculty. Those selected will receive invitations to the LSB Student and Faculty Awards Ceremony on April 18, 2013.
