The Elon Men’s Lacrosse Club hosted more than 50 youth lacrosse players from Burlington Parks & Recreation before their home game versus Appalachian State March 3.
The lacrosse program at Burlington Parks & Recreation has been in existence since 2005 and has more than 100 participants between the ages of 8 to 15.
After working with the youth players, Elon beat Appalachian State 15-5. Senior Andy Fargnoli of Scituate, Mass., lead the Phoenix with five goals. Seniors Matt Culloty of Timmonium, Md., had four assists and Mike Meglio of Larchmont, N.Y., had 13 saves.
This weekend the team travels to Palm Beach Florida to take on Sam Houston State and Western Washington in the Sailfish Shootout.
