Gerald Francis Award for OUTSTANDING FACULTY MEMBER OF THE YEAR
The SGA Academic Council gives the Gerald Francis Outstanding Faculty Member of the Year award to one faculty member who exemplifies excellence within teaching and mentoring. Recipient must be a teaching faculty member. The recipient is selected from a pool of faculty members nominated by students, voted on by the SGA Academic Council, and conferred by the SGA Senate. The criteria are:
• The faculty person who epitomizes teaching in a way that enhances student’s learning ability (understand information).
• Faculty whose impact on students includes, but also extends, beyond the walls of the classroom.
Nominators should send the nomination (at least a paragraph no more than one page) indicating how the faculty member meets these criteria to the SGA Academic Council Liaison, Tadas Rimkus at trimkus@elon.edu or Dr. Jana Lynn Patterson, SGA Advisor, at patters@elon.edu. Nominations must be received by 5:00 pm on Monday, March 11 at 5:00 pm.
The award will be presented at the SGA Organization Awards and Inauguration Ceremony on Thursday, April 4 in Oaks 212.
