Elon University has joined Universities Fighting World Hunger, a movement of hundreds of college campuses and universities around the world working together to eradicate a social ill that affects hundreds of millions of people every day.
First organized in 2006, the movement today is housed at Auburn University in Alabama. Locally, the push to join UFWH was an outcome of the North Carolina Campus Compact conference in October and the Elon Hunger Summit last month.

It creates a learning environment where intellectual discovery and social responsibility converge in pursuit of a sustainable world – a world that protects our natural environment and enhances human health and well-being for present and future generations.”
