The Elon community is invited to a moderated discussion on the issues surrounding violence related to gun use on Wednesday, May 1 from 6:30-8:00pm in McKinnon Hall.
During this event, we will hear personal statements from a panel of selected graduate and undergraduate students, staff, and faculty and then from a panel of experts that may include a policy maker, constitutional law professor, social worker, and an area police chief.
Please visit http://www.elon.edu/gunviolence where you will find a further explanation of the event, as well as specific information on how to apply to be part of the Elon community panel. All faculty, staff, and students are welcome to apply to present as a panelist. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis and those selected will be informed by April 22nd.
For faculty, we encourage you to spread the word in your classes and to challenge your best students to consider applying to be a panelist for this event.
If you have any questions concerning this event, please do not hesitate to contact Dr. Tom Arcaro at arcaro@elon.edu or Niki Turley at nturley@elon.edu. Thank you for your continuing dedication to our students and their education.
