Rising-senior statistics major, Amy Zemanick, has been accepted into the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s (NIST) Summer Undergraduate Research Forum (SURF).
Zemanick will be working at the Information Technology Lab in Gaithersburg, MD. As a part of the SURF, Zemanick will be applying her statistics and R computing skills to explore geologic compositions. Zemanick is the first statistics major to apply to the NIST-SURF program. In addition to being advised by Antonio Possolo at NIST, her Elon experience will be mentored by Laura Taylor, assistant professor of statistics.
