Assistant Professor Cara McFadden in the Department of Sport and Event Management had an article published in the most recent edition of the Journal of Applied Measurement.
“Development and Validation of the Sense of Competence Scale-Revised” discussed the Sense of Competence Scale-Revised (SCS-R) developed to measure the sense of competence of college students. Administrators can use data from the instrument to modify an institution’s academic and social environment to enhance the development of the intellectual, physical, and interpersonal competencies of college students.
McFadden professionally worked in Campus Recreation prior to joining the faculty. Her expertise and research interests include campus recreation assessment, college student development theory, and instrument development and validation.
