Awtrey’s talk, “Degree 14 2-adic fields,” focused on recent research results he obtained in collaboration with Elon mathematics majors Nicole Miles ’15, Christopher Shill ’14, Erin Strosnider ’14 and UNC-Greensboro mathematics doctoral student Jonathan Milstead. A corresponding paper has been accepted for publication in the journal Involve, which is a top-ranked professional mathematics research journal dedicated to publishing high-quality research resulting from student-faculty collaborations.
