Mitch Pittman ’09 won his most recent Upper Midwest Region Emmy Award for his work at KSTP-TV in St. Paul, Minn., during a Sept. 28 ceremony.
Elon alumnus Mitch Pittman picked up his third Emmy from the Upper Midwest Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences in as many years Saturday, as he took top honors in the Video Journalist category, which recognizes reporters who shoot, write and edit their own stories.
He was also nominated in the Weather-Single Story/Segment category.
Pittman previously won the Video Journalist category in 2011, while he earned an Emmy in the Feature News Report: Serious Single Story category in 2012.
A North Carolina native, Pittman earned his degree at Elon in Communications and has also received awards from the National Press Photographers Association. He was a recipient of the D’Angelo Family Scholarship at Elon.
Pittman joined KSTP’s staff in April 2011 after working for two years in Burlington, Vt., with Fox44 News. He has since moved to Seattle and now reports for KING 5.
