Flu vaccines will be offered free to faculty, staff and retirees courtesy of Elon this month.
Elon University Health services, in partnership with Alamance Regional Medical Center, will offer the flu vaccines on the following days:
- Tuesday, Oct. 8 from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Ward Octagon Room (Moseley Center)
- Thursday, Oct. 24 from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. in McKinnon Hall (Moseley Center)
- Tuesday, Oct. 29 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. in Lakeside Room 212
A separate flu vaccine clinic will be offered at the School of Law. The dean’s office will provide more information when it is available.
The single dose flu vaccine is designed to protect against the flu strains that research indicates will cause the most illness during the flu season. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends getting the flu vaccine as soon as it becomes available each year. The protection from the vaccination is designed to last throughout the flu season.
Spouses, partners and dependents, who are older than 18, of faculty and staff may also receive the vaccine for a charge of $20.
