A Friday evening performance in by the Dutch singer/songwriter in Whitley Auditorium is free and open to the public.
Friday, October 25
Marcel Van Dam, guitar
Whitley Auditorium, 7:30 p.m.
Dutch singer/songwriter Marcel Van Dam combines original lyrics and music with smooth vocals. Having lived in France for 15 years, his repertoire has transatlantic allusions, reminiscent of James Taylor and Francis Cabrel.
The Friday evening performance in Whitley Auditorium will feature trumpeter Frank Vigilante of the Manhattan-based jazz/funk/soul rooted rock ensemble SubLunar Minds.
Van Dam’s visit – which featured visits with students studying world languages, music production and business – was made possible by the Fund for Excellence in the Arts and Sciences, the Department of World Languages and Cultures, the Department of Music, the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business, and the School of Communications at Elon University.
