The North Carolina Career Development Association recognized the associate director of Elon's Career Services for her contributions to career development both in the state and around the region.
Rhonda Kosusko, associate director of Elon Career Services, has received the 2013 Roy N. Anderson Award, which is the highest award bestowed by the North Carolina Career Development Association.
The award recognizes an individual in North Carolina who has made an outstanding contribution to career development both in the state and at the regional or national levels over an extended period of time. Kosusko learned of the award during the NCCDA’s annual conference, hosted this year on Elon’s campus.
Pam Brumbaugh, director of experiential education and the previous winner of the “Roy,” presented the award, named for the founding professor of the North Carolina State University Counselor Education Department.
Kosusko brings to Elon University 15 years of experience in the career development world, plus experience in the corporate & non-profit sectors. Nominators said she “gives selflessly and tirelessly of time, energy, enthusiasm and ideas” and that she “is professional and acts with integrity in all interactions and is a credit to the profession.”
“Rhonda embodies what we mean by the term career advisor,” notes Tom Vecchione, executive director of the Office of Career Services. “Her successful work with a wide range of students, with dramatically different skill sets and goals, highlights the value she brings to both the office and the profession.”
