The Elon community is invited to a vigil on Nov. 14 at 1:30 p.m. to pray for those impacted by the typhoon in the Philippines.
Elon University’s Truitt Center for Religious and Spiritual Life will hold a vigil on Thursday, Nov. 14 to offer prayers and support for the people of the Philippines who have been affected by Typhoon Haiyan. The vigil is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. in the Sacred Space of the university’s Numen Lumen Pavilion.
The Truitt Center has issued the following invitation to the Elon community:
“The images of wreckage after the typhoon in the Philippines are heartrending, and rightly so.
If you are wondering how to make meaning of it all; if you are concerned for how Elon is responding; if you are inclined to join in community to ponder and respond to the tragedy; if you are wondering how to make a difference: please join us for a prayer vigil as we hear readings, prayers, laments and hope from several religious traditions.”
