Crucial Conversations (Closed)

Crucial Conversations is a model for making conflict work FOR instead of against us, as individuals and as institutions.

We will learn to use the model when the stakes and emotions are high and when there are opposing opinions. Whether in a business setting or a family, these skills can help us communicate better instead of shutting down or lashing out.

Jan Fuller, University Chaplain, is also a trainer for Crucial Conversations. The training is deep and extensive and requires a commitment of 16 contact  hours (but no homework!) Due to generous support from the Office of Leadership and Professional Development, we are able to train a limited number of staff and faculty this year. Similar training programs usually cost $1500.00 per person, but there will be no fee for our program participants.

The training will be divided into four Modules. Participants are invited to select the timing of Modules I, II, III, and IV that suit their schedules. You must have all four modules to complete the training, and they should be done in order.
