Avalon, a group of student volunteers who travel to Greensboro to assist refugee children, is looking for volunteers!
Are you looking for a way to make an impact on children’s lives?
Avalon volunteers travel to the Center of New North Carolinians at the Ashton Woods apartment complex in Greensboro and assist refugee children who are adjusting to life in the United States. Students can volunteer on weekday evenings to tutor elementary through high school students. On Fridays, student volunteers play games or participate in arts and crafts activities with the children.
For those interested in tutoring during the week, please attend the interest meeting on Thursday, April 3, at 8:30 p.m. in Moseley 217.
We also have times available for large groups looking to coordinate some Fun Friday activities.
If you or your club is interested in volunteering, please contact avalon@edu.
