The associate professor in the psychology department and the neuroscience program presented at the annual North Carolina Cognition Group conference on March 29, 2014, hosted by Duke University.
Associate Professor Amy Overman made a March 29 presentation, “Strategy switching effects in cued recall for related and unrelated word pairs,” at the annual North Carolina Cognition Group conference at Duke University.
The research was co-authored with Elon alumna Stephanie Robinson ’11, who was mentored by Overman and is currently earning a doctorate in psychology at Brandeis University. Nancy Dennis, assistant professor of psychology at Penn State University, was also a co-author.
The project is part of Overman’s ongoing cognitive neuroscience research on associative memory in younger and older adults. The research was supported by funding from Elon’s Undergraduate Research Program and an Elon Faculty Research and Development Award.
