A revised class schedule is in effect for Wednesday, April 2, as Elon University celebrates a special Spring Convocation featuring President Emeritus J. Earl Danieley '46.
Spring Convocation on April 2, 2014, will include a student academic march into Alumni Gym for Class of 2014 undergraduates as well as president’s and dean’s list honorees.
Graduating seniors have been instructed to wear maroon robes for the ceremony. President’s list and dean’s list students will wear black robes. Students in need of a robe can visit the Barnes & Noble Campus Shop on Williamson Avenue on Monday or Tuesday between 8:30 a.m. and 7 p.m.
The campus shop also opens at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, the day of Convocation.
Classes will dismiss at 3 p.m. Wednesday. Student lines will form alphabetically by last name at the Colonnades outside Koury Athletic Center. Please report at 3:10 p.m.:
Students with last name A through L: Assemble at the West colonnades (facing Williamson Avenue). University Marshals Jana Lynn Patterson, Jon Dooley and additional Elon staff will assist with student lines.
Students with last name M through Z: Assemble at the East colonnades (facing Young Commons and Belk Library). University Marshals Jodean Schmiederer, Rex Waters and additional Elon staff will assist with student lines.
The university’s normal Wednesday class schedule also has been revised for the day.
8-9:10 a.m. classes meet from 8-8:50 a.m.
9:25-10:35 classes meet from 9:05-9:55 a.m.
10:50-12 p.m. classes meet from 10:10-11 a.m.
12:15-1:25 classes meet from 11:15 a.m. – 12:05 p.m.
1:40-2:50 classes meet from 12:20-1:10 p.m.
1:40-3:20 classes meet from 12:20-1:30 p.m.
3:35-5:15 classes meet from 1:45-2:55 p.m.
5:30-7:10 classes are on regular schedule; however, individual faculty members may elect to delay start times.
Important Reminders:
- Please be on time.
- Travel light and keep any valuables with you.
- Wear light clothing under academic robes to be most comfortable in the gym.
- The ceremony will conclude with the student recessional at approximately 4:45 p.m.
