April 14 12:00 - 1:15 p.m. Lakeside meeting room 213 RSVP
Social media has become extremely popular among students who regularly use Twitter, YouTube, and Facebook for personal interactions; so using social media to encourage continued conversations outside the classroom walls and promote campus and departmental events makes sense.
If you are currently using or considering the benefits of social media, join Teaching and Learning Technologies (TLT) and University Communications for a social media discussion. During this lunch and learn session, we will have a panel of experts who successfully use social media in both academic and promotional settings at Elon.
Antonio Izzo, Associate Professor of Biology and Faculty Fellow for Technology, moderator
Philip Jones, Social Media Manager, University Communications – social media best practices
Colin Donohue, Instructor in Communications and Coordinator of Student Media – Twitter
Dan Wyar, Director of Athletics Communications – Facebook
Scott Windham, Associate Professor of German – YouTube
A buffet lunch will be provided for faculty and staff who RSVP by Monday, April 7th. Seating is limited.
