Galbraith has served as Duke Regional’s interim president since Sept. 30, 2013, and formerly served as the hospital’s vice president.
Elon MBA alumna Katie Galbraith has been named president of Duke Regional Hospital effective May 1, the hospital announced Monday.
Since 2001, Galbraith has held various responsibilities at the hospital, from marketing and business development to hospital operations. She served as interim president since Sept. 30, 2013, and formerly served as the hospital’s vice president.
Prior to joining Duke Regional Hospital, Galbraith was the public relations manager for Duke Children’s Hospital and Health Center. She has also worked in media relations for the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation in Williamsburg, Va.; as a reporter and freelance writer for The Cape Cod Times, The Virginian-Pilot, and Navy Times; and as a studio guide for Universal Studios Florida.
Galbraith graduated with a journalism degree from Northwestern University and an MBA degree from Elon University in 2007. She is a member of the Society for Healthcare Strategy and Market Development, the American Marketing Association and the American College of Healthcare Executives, and also serves on the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business Board of Advisors.
