Join the Art History class of 2014 on Monday, May 19, from 9-11 a.m. as students present their senior seminar research projects in the Isabella Cannon Room, Center for the Arts.
Every senior art history major culminates their degree with a semester-long research project on a subject of their choice. This year Arielle Weil, Kiley Brandt, Meghan White, Ellen Fraser, and David Turner will share their findings with the public on Monday, May 19th, from 9am to 11am in the Isabella Cannon Room, Center for the Arts. Refreshments will be served and you are welcome to drop in at your convenience. Formal twenty-minute oral and visual presentations, the standard in the discipline, will proceed in the following order:
- Arielle Weil (ARH & ART major, Spanish minor) “Ambiguity in Colossus“.
- Kiley Brandt (ARH & ART major, WGS & Psychology minor) “Re-evaluating Eve: An Updated Iconographical Reading of Masami Teraoka’s Eve and the Three Blind Mice“.
- Meghan White (ARH & HST major, Lit & Classical Studies minor) “The Letter and the Viewer: Representing the Boundary of Private Space in Jan Vermeer’s The Love Letter“.
- Ellen Fraser (ARH & PWR major, Spanish minor) “Imagining Home: Subconscious Negotiation of Self-Representation in Shirin Neshat’s Women of Allah Series”.
- David Turner (ARH & COM major) “It’s in the Details: The Dutch Wax Print and Yinka Shonibare”.
