Mark Dalhouse, the new director of the Study USA program in the Global Education Center, joined Elon colleagues Pam and Chalmers Brumbaugh in late June to visit 16 students interning this summer in the nation's capital.
Elon University students are gaining networking connections and professional experience this summer while enjoying the cultural world of Washington, D.C., and a front row seat to breaking news events shaping the world.
Through the Washington Center for Academic Internships and Seminars, Elon students serving in a diverse selection of internships, including placements at the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute, United Way Worldwide, C-Span Book TV Department, PBS’ To the Contrary, the Urban Institute, Law Media Group and The Council on Hemispheric Affairs, among others. Students earn academic credit for their internship experience and also take classes at The Washington Center.
