The assistant professor of education gave four presentations at the 28th Annual "High Schools that Work" Conference in Nashville, Tenn., from July 17-18.
Assistant Professor Jeffrey Carpenter presented twice on July 17 with Mike Martin of the Pioneer Career & Technology Center in Ohio. Their presentations, “Wow I can do that? Harnessing the Power of Google” and “Google 101: Google Apps for Beginners,” were about educational uses of various Google applications and add-ons. The sessions both attracted standing room only audiences.
Carpenter presented twice on July 18 on the topics of backchanneling in the classroom and Twitter chats. Both sessions drew more than 100 attendees.
