Eight outstanding alumni will be honored at Homecoming for their professional success, community engagement and loyal support of Elon.
The Office of Alumni Engagement has announced the winners of the 2014 Alumni Awards. The recipients will be honored at the Homecoming Opening Ceremony on Oct. 17, which kicks off the weekend festivities.
The winners are:
Mike Riccio ’85, chief financial officer, La-Z-Boy Incorporated
Alumnus of the Year
Awarded to an alumnus who has distinguished himself in a profession and in the community and brought honor to Elon.
Gail Hettel LaRose ’64, former educator and philanthropist, Centreville, Va.
Alumna of the Year
Awarded to an alumna who has distinguished herself in a profession and in the community and brought honor to Elon.
David L. Morrow II ’07 L’10, Legal Counsel with PayPal, Washington, D.C.
Young Alumnus of the Year
Awarded to an alumnus who has graduated within the past 10 years and has distinguished himself in their profession.
Kim Hayes ’05, development/production, Big Picture Studios, Las Vegas
Young Alumna of the Year
Awarded to an alumna who has graduated within the past 10 years and has distinguished herself in their profession.
The Rev. Erin M. Keys ’05, acting head of staff/associate minister for congregational life, First Presbyterian Church of Greenwich, Conn.
Service to Church & Society
Awarded to an alumnus or alumna whose life demonstrates service to church and society.
TJ Reynolds-Emwanta ’01, advocate, CenterPoint Human Services, Advance, N.C.
Alumni Service Award
Presented to an alumnus or alumna who has given extraordinary service to his or her community.
Tim Johnson ’09, director/editor (Los Angeles) and Max Cantor ’10, writer/director (New York)
Distinguished Service to Elon Award
Awarded to an organization, business, foundation or individual who has demonstrated outstanding service that promotes the advancement of Elon.
