The 39 Annual Convention & Career Fair of the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) attracts more than 3, 000 journalists, PR professionals, students and professors.
Associate Professor and Elon Local News Adviser Rich Landesberg, along with Assistant Professor and Internship Director Nagatha Tonkins talked about the importance of campus media experience in today’s job search at the 39 Annual Convention & Career Fair of the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) August second in Boston.
The annual conference attracts more than 3, 000 journalists, PR professionals, students and professors.
Tonkins moderated the panel session “Campus Television Newscasts: The Lead-in to a Great Career” and told the audience about the impact campus media experience has on job and internship success. Landesberg shared advice on how to have a successful campus television newscast, motivate students and overcome newsroom obstacles.
Student and Elon Local News Multi-media Journalist Jasmine Turner told students how to best balance academics, a demanding newscast schedule and other activities. Students Brandon Joyner and Julian Council also attended the convention.
