Open enrollment begins Oct. 20 and will last until Oct. 31. Get information about Elon's health plan at the Benefts Fair.
Do you have questions about your benefits? One of the best ways to get answers to your questions is at the Benefits Fair, where you can talk with representatives from our benefit carriers to learn all that you need to know to make informed elections during open enrollment.
The Benefits Fair is Tuesday, Oct. 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Koury Athletics Center (Koury Concourse) If you are unable to attend, please access the Open Enrollment website for more information about open enrollment.
Each year Elon University provides an open enrollment period to allow eligible employees to add, drop, and/or make changes to their existing benefits. This year, open enrollment begins on October 20th and ends on October 31st. You can enroll through OnTrack.
Access the Benefits Enrollment Online Instructions here. These instructions will show you how to complete the enrollment process online. Accessing the instructions prior to beginning the process is advised. Access the 2015 Benefits Guide here. The guide provides a quick overview of the benefits offered at Elon. An audible presentation has been created to help you understand the different benefit options.
Reminder: When completing the online enrollment, you will need to provide the following information:
For adding dependent(s) and/or a legal spouse/domestic partner to your benefits –
Full name(s),
Birth date(s), and
Social security number(s)
You must complete the open enrollment process online if you are adding, deleting, and/or making changes to your benefits. If you don’t make an enrollment election, you will maintain your medical, dental, vision, dependent/optional life, long-term disability, etc. at your current coverage level except for your flexible spending plans. Flexible spending (medical and/or dependent care spending accounts) participates must re-enroll in those plans every year because previous elections do not roll over.
Adding, deleting, or making a change to the Optional and Dependent Life insurances as well as Long-Term Disability, will have to be completed by paper forms. When selecting any of these options during open enrollment, you have to complete an Evidence of Insurability form then mail the form to Lincoln Financial. Lincoln Financial will in turn, determine eligibility and notify you directly regarding approval or denial. Beneficiary designation/changes for the life insurance(s) will also have to be made via paper form. Please stop by the Office of Human Resources to pick up the necessary forms.
Enrollment forms for the Lincoln Financial Group insurances must be completed and returned to our office no later than 5:00 p.m. on Friday, October 31, 2014.
If you have experienced any changes this year with dependents, marital status or other life events, you are advised to review your current benefit elections and select the most appropriate choices for you as well as your family for 2015.
Please feel free to contact the Office of Human Resources at ext. 5560 if you have any questions.
The Wellness Office will provide free flu shots to faculty and staff at the Benefits Fair.
