Dr. Gregory A. Petsko “Targeting Protein Trafficking: A New Approach to the Treatment of Alzheimer’s Disease”

The frequency of neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s is projected to rise in our aging population. As a biochemist and professor of neurology, Petsko and his team investigate strategies to promote the recycling of beta amyloid precursor proteins in order to reduce its accumulation and aggregation in the plaques and tangles characteristic of affected brain tissue.
