[/caption]Assistant Professor Jason Husser offered commentary on Jan. 6, 2015, for a North Carolina statewide news outlet reporting on a story about one county’s move toward paper ballots to be used in upcoming elections.
Husser, the university’s Faculty Fellow for Civic Engagement and assistant director of the Elon University Poll, spoke with Time Warner Cable News for a segment that examined ballot problems in Forsyth County during the 2014 elections.

“Electronic ballots have some advantages, particularly efficiency, and theoretically, the should be more accurate,” said Jason Husser, assistant professor of political science and policy studies at Elon University.
There are concerns about reliability and possible hacking.
“The fact of the matter is paper ballots have been around for hundreds of years. We know they’re pretty reliable,’’ said Husser.
