The assistant professor of marketing was quoted in a recent story by central North Carolina's largest daily newspaper about the troubled times of a local shopping mall.

[/caption]Assistant Professor Alisha Horky in the Department of Marketing and Entrepreneurship shared insights on retail trends in a (Greensboro, N.C.) News & Record story that examined the decline in shoppers to a regional mall that, at one point, boasted a vibrant customer base.
In “Oak Hollow Mall remains stuck,” a story published Dec. 12, 2014, Horky talks with reporter Jonnelle Davis about shoppers moving away from traditional indoor shopping malls popular during the latter half of the 20th century.
She also noted how many communities across the United States have taken over portions of vacant or largely unused indoor malls.
Horky teaches operations & supply chain management courses. She joined the faculty at Elon in 2014 after earning her doctorate in business administration with a concentration in marketing from Mississippi State University.
Prior to her academic career, Horky worked in specialty retail. Her primary research interests include issues in retailing and distribution strategy.
