Elon University’s Historic Neighborhood sponsored a Jan. 13 dinner with conversation focused on the Winter Term 2015 theme of Diversity.
More than 60 students attended a program that featured table discussions with classmates who participated the previous day in a workshop on student activism.
The highlight of the evening was hearing from Randy Williams, presidential fellow and dean of Multicultural Affairs. Williams spoke about student activism in the 1960s, focusing not only on what was happening across the nation but also on what was occurring on Elon’s campus.
He challenged the students to consider what they care about, what they can do to make change, and how they can do so effectively.
