The professor of economics talked in January with television reporter Bob Buckley about the effect of lower gas prices on the economy.
Professor Steve DeLoach in the Department of Economics was featured Jan. 19, 2015, in a television news segment exploring the way gas prices impact businesses and the broader economy.
DeLoach spoke with TV reporter Bob Buckley for a WGHP Fox 8 “Buckley Report” in-depth examination of gas prices. In an extended interview from his office, DeLoach points to the way lower fuel costs help many companies and explains why those prices don’t have quite the same impact on the economy they once did.
DeLoach is Elon’s 2014-15 Distinguished University Scholar. He researches the impact of macroeconomics on the behavior of individuals, international trade theory and international economics.
