Following his presentation, there will be a brief response from Dr. Sarah Bloesch, adjunct assistant professor of religious studies at Elon University, with questions and discussions from the audience. Bloesch’s research focuses on the intersections of Christianity and culture in the United States, exploring the interrelation between theology and theories of sexuality, race, and gender.
Later that night, at 7 p.m., Gushee will present at Elon Community Church, in the Family Life Center, on Changing Our Mind: My Journey as a Christian Ethicist toward Full LGBT Acceptance.
Both events are sponsored by the Truitt Center for Religious and Spiritual Life; the Center for the Study of Religion, Culture, and Society; and PFLAG Alamance. They are free and open to the public. All are welcome.
