The professor in the Department of Physical Therapy Education presented on a retrospective study involving the use of Nitroglycerin patches.
Associate Professor of Physical Therapy Education Daryl Lawson gave a presentation March 12 with Bert Fields, director of the Sports Medicine Center at Cone Health, at the 2015 Area Health Education Center Conference in Greensboro, N.C.
Lawson and Fields spoke about a retrospective study called “A New Standard of Care – Using Topical NTG (Nitroglycerin patches) for Tendinopathy” that Lawson assisted while on sabbatical at the Cone Heath Sports Medicine Center.
The talk focused around the review of 30 people with non-healing rotator cuff problems. The evidence is very positive using this standard of care that also includes physical therapy. The design of a prospective study using NTG and tendinopathy is being developed by Fields at Cone Health and Lawson at Elon University.
