College Brother of the Year is an award program with Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. that exists at the district (state), regional and national levels.
Elon University senior Kristopher Jiles was named this year’s winner of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.’s “College Brother of the Year” award at the district level, which consists of all chapters within the state of North Carolina.
The award is given to a college brother who has excelled in a variety of ways: grade point average, involvement within the chapter, application of national programs (“Go to High School, Go to College”, “A Voteless People is a Hopeless People”, Project Alpha and Brother’s Keeper), as well as service initiatives.
Jiles met all of the requirements and received a scholarship in addition to the named recognition. He now has the opportunity to compete for the regional award against district winners from South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee and Florida.
Jiles competes at the Southern Region Convention in Orlando, Fla., from March 19-22, 2015.
