The Elon Club Baseball team faced off the weekend March 14-15 against University of North Carolina at Charlotte in what was supposed to be a three-game series.
The Phoenix mercy ruled Charlotte in eight innings winning 13-3 behind a solid performance by starting pitcher Sam Bonifant and three great innings of relief coming from Will Flood. The game started out pretty slow as the two teams were tied at 2-2 through five innings, until the Elon bats came to life late in the game. The offensive production was led by Ryson Porter who went 2 for 2 with 5 RBI’s and Matt “Cookie” Browne who was also 2 for 2 with 2 runs scored. Due to the weather, the team could only play one of the three games. The Elon Club Baseball team looks to get three more wins before spring break .
